In order to provide the best service possible to our clients, our Friendly Visitor
volunteers are required
to complete a certificate program designed
to help them
better
understand dementia and their role in care giving.
Our volunteer training certificate program consists
of five,
three-hour
sessions,
with the following topics being discussed:
- Normal Aging
- Overview of Dementia
- Legal and Ethical Issues
- Palliative Care
- Meaningful Activities
- Environment and Behaviour
- Role of a Volunteer
These training sessions take place twice a year. If you’re

Fundraising Events Volunteer
These volunteers help in all aspects of the events, such as planning, marketing and
day-of-event assistance. Some events we hold during the year are “Curl For Memories,”
“Memories Marathon,” and “Coffee Break.”
