Individuals who have completed the ‘Beyond Words’ early stage support group are encouraged to remain connected through the R.E.B.E.L. group.  It is very important for  people living with dementia to focus on what they can do.  This includes reminiscing, exploring the senses through various activities, being physically active, engaging in conversation and learning to do things differently.

Family members, spouses, caregivers and friends are also invited to attend.  R.E.B.E.L. group meets monthly to socialize, support one another and participate in community based activities.  Through this group we create an inclusive community which supports the health and well-being of each other.

Together the group affirms that even with a diagnosis of dementia there is joy and meaning in life.  This program is unique as the participants themselves assist with the direction of the monthly group activities with the support of caregivers, volunteers and the Alzheimer Society of Niagara group facilitator and support staff.
